Florida was AWESOME… saw a space shuttle launch and caught a P.A. speaker on fire (a normal day at the office).
The shows were all great and we were able to spend some days off with some friends. We actually got to witness that space shuttle launch as well….man, that thing lights up the sky!!! That was really cool. Unfortunately there was heavy cloud cover, so we weren’t able to see the shuttle once it hit the clouds, but it was impressive nonetheless.
Our show in Coral, Florida was interesting…we started the show with “Fifteen Minutes’ Fame” and got through the first chorus when we threw a breaker and all the power went out. Hilarious! When they got the power back on, we started the chorus again and got through the bridge of the song when we threw the breaker again! It was great! When they got the breaker situation resolved, we got about halfway into the set and I started smelling the awful stench of an electrical fire. Smoke started filling the stage and I looked to my right and saw that the main speaker was actually in flames!!! The guys hurried up and put the fire out and ran the speaker outside and they replaced the speaker quickly so we were able to finish the set! How crazy is that? I’ve never actually seen a speaker set ablaze like that! Aside from all that, the show was great and we had a great time.
We have found that our Florida friends and fans are into road trips – lots of them make drives to several shows in the state (and even out of state), which is really cool. It is always good to see familiar faces! Hope to see y’all again very soon!
The PowerStation in Macon, Georgia on Saturday night was incredible! We absolutely LOVE that place…great people, great stage, great sound, and GREAT FOOD! They always have a huge spread of home-cooked food for the bands…and it is wickedly good! The show itself was great….our fanbase there is growing fast and the people are always very supportive and show love. There is a really good scene brewing there at The PowerStation and we are eager to get back there soon!
