Riley Hall of the Houma Daily Courier in Houma, Louisiana recently interviewed Mat and Heather about their experiences moving from Louisiana to California… and what’s on the horizon now that Hydrovibe’s first full-length album has been released.
The female-fronted, Los Angeles-based band keeps its toes close to its Louisiana heritage.

“Our live shows are the vehicle which moves us forward,” Dauzat said. “We literally have performed with blood, sweat and tears; we have given it all at our shows.”
“We just want to connect with our audience and put on a really good live show,” St. Marie added. “That experience is what it’s all about for us.”
When they first arrived in California, Dauzat said they dreamed of getting signed to a major record label. However, after they got that deal, they didn’t like sacrificing artistic control of their music or their style.
“Musical integrity will not be compromised,” Dauzat said. “We won’t let them (the music industry executives) pimp Heather. We won’t make cookie-cutter music following what the music industry thinks will make female-fronted rock bands popular.”
